I am a retired reading specialist from Oak Park, Illinois School District 97, where I taught for 25 years.
I have taught all grades K-8, as well as reading courses for teachers and college students. Additionally, I have nearly a decade of experience working as a Special Education team leader at Longfellow School, Oak Park.
I received a Master's Degree in Reading from National-Louis University and a Type 75 Administrative Degree (Principal) from Northern Illinois University.
Your child will receive a personalized, tailor-made lesson at each session.
I start by testing your child to determine areas of strengths and challenges. After goals are set, a lesson plan is developed. I typically tutor a student for one or two sessions a week for 55-minutes each lesson.
I am a SLANT certified instructor. SLANT materials are decodeable, skill-sequential and multi-sensory. I use SLANT materials in addition to many other materials to best meet the needs of your child.
I tutor students in kindergarten through high school in decoding, comprehension, spelling and writing skills.
